This past year there has been a deluge of data companies trying to find an edge in uncovering promising companies. There are a lot of great companies in this field creating awesome products and value. But it’s getting to a point where data is being commoditized. Once you have this data, how does it become actionable? Most of the information is backward looking. What does it mean about my investment decisions now and in the future? That’s not to say this data is meaningless, it’s actually very valuable, but you have to be able to see the forest through the trees.
